1. Introduction
SnapSip ("we," "our," or "us") operates the SnapSip mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the App.
2. Information We Collect
- Account Information: SnapSip does not currently require you to create an account or log in.
- Camera and Photos: When you choose to scan bottles, the selected image is sent to our recipe service for bottle and ingredient identification. Images are processed for recommendations and are not intended to be stored by us after processing.
- Usage Data: We may process app activity needed to operate features, including scan counts, premium access state, saved favorites, selected units, and app settings. Favorites and settings are primarily stored on your device.
- Device and Security Data: We may process device-related signals, including App Attest information and device identifiers, to protect the service from abuse and keep the App working reliably.
- Purchase Information: Premium access is managed through Apple StoreKit. We receive purchase status information needed to unlock paid features, but we do not receive your full payment card details.
- Support Information: If you contact support, we process your email address and the message content you provide.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the App.
- Process AI-powered bottle and ingredient identification.
- Generate cocktail recommendations based on the bottles you scan.
- Track usage for free-tier limits and premium feature access.
- Process purchases and restore premium access through Apple StoreKit.
- Prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve reliability.
- Respond to support requests.
4. Data Storage and Security
Favorites, settings, and some usage state may be stored locally on your device. Requests to generate cocktail recommendations are handled by our Cloudflare Worker and related service infrastructure. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini: AI image analysis and cocktail recommendation generation.
- Cloudflare: Backend hosting and request processing for the recipe service.
- Apple: App distribution, StoreKit in-app purchases, subscriptions, and purchase restoration.
Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing how it processes information. We do not sell personal information and we do not currently use advertising partners in the App.
6. Your Rights
- Request access to personal information we may hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of personal information, where applicable.
- Delete data stored on your device by deleting the App.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store account settings.

7. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as needed to provide the App, maintain security, respond to support requests, and satisfy legal obligations. Photos submitted for scanning are processed to generate recommendations and are not intended to be retained by us after processing.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users who are legally allowed to consume alcohol in their location. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the applicable legal drinking age.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy with a new "Last updated" date.
